[A raven taps insistently on your window, bearing a small scroll in its sharp beak. You open the window and it drops the note, gives a shake of its feathers, and blasts back into the night.]

We've begun well, rallying the resistance to the forces of evil that threaten to upend the order we've fought so fiercely for. But it's early days still. My Dread Lord has declared that, should at least forty souls put quill to page, He will open his boundless treasure troves. He swears to arm all loyal to Him in this struggle with arcane armaments such that will make these disloyal lands shudder under their might. These treasures, drawn from the Cache of the Night Warden, include magical items forged in blood and secrecy. All shall be yours—if forty answer the call.
